Canada Visitor Hub is committed to correcting inaccurate or outdated information.
Travel information changes frequently, and even carefully researched content can become outdated as regulations, transportation systems, fees, operating hours, and destination conditions change.
We want readers to be able to report issues easily and understand how we respond.
What We Correct
We may correct content when we identify:
- factual errors
- outdated regulations
- incorrect transportation information
- inaccurate prices or fees
- incorrect operating hours
- broken or outdated links
- incorrect location information
- misleading wording
- significant omissions
- formatting or typographical errors that affect meaning
How Corrections Are Handled
When a potential issue is reported, we review the claim and compare it with reliable sources.
If the information is incorrect, we update the article as soon as reasonably possible.
Depending on the nature of the correction, we may:
- update a sentence or section
- replace outdated information
- add clarification
- update links or sources
- remove information that can no longer be verified
- revise the article more broadly if the issue affects the overall guidance
Minor Corrections
Minor changes such as:
- spelling
- grammar
- formatting
- broken links
- small wording improvements
may be corrected without a public correction notice.
Significant Corrections
When an error materially changes the meaning of an article or could significantly affect travel planning, we may add a visible correction or update note.
Examples may include:
- incorrect entry requirements
- major transportation errors
- inaccurate park-access information
- incorrect closure information
- significant pricing errors
- advice that could materially affect a traveller’s plans
A correction note may explain:
- what was incorrect
- what was changed
- when the article was updated
Updates Are Not Always Corrections
Travel guides often need routine updates because conditions change.
For example:
- a train schedule changes
- a park introduces a new reservation system
- an attraction changes its hours
- a fare increases
- a new transportation option becomes available
These may be treated as normal editorial updates rather than errors if the original information was correct when published.
How to Report an Error
If you notice something that appears incorrect or outdated, please contact Canada Visitor Hub and include:
- the URL of the article
- the information you believe is incorrect
- the correct information, if known
- a reliable source or official link, if available
Providing an official source helps us review the issue faster.
Our Commitment
We do not aim to hide mistakes.
If something is wrong, we want to fix it.
Our goal is to maintain useful, trustworthy travel information and improve our content over time.
