Canada Visitor Hub is a reader-supported travel guide. This page explains, in plain language, how affiliate links work on this site, how we choose the products and services we mention, and what it means for you. Short version: if you buy something through certain links on this site, we may earn a small commission — it never changes the price you pay, and it never changes what we recommend.
What is an affiliate link?
Some links on Canada Visitor Hub — mainly in our product roundups and gear guides — are affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale as a referral fee. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you had gone to the retailer directly.
We take part in affiliate programs offered by retailers and booking platforms, including the Amazon Associates program. This disclosure applies to every page on this site that contains an affiliate link, and each of those pages also carries a short note at the top saying so.
Not every link on this site is an affiliate link. Our Deals posts, for example, link straight to the official airline, hotel, or tour booking pages so you can check the live price yourself.
How we choose what to recommend
We research products the same way we research our travel guides: manufacturer specifications, retailer listings, and feedback from verified buyers. We write honestly about strengths and weaknesses, and we say clearly in each article when a recommendation is based on research rather than hands-on testing.
No company can pay to be included in our guides, to be ranked higher, or to have a negative point removed. If a product is ever provided to us free of charge for review, we will say so in that article.
Prices and availability
Prices, stock, and offers change constantly — especially around Canadian winters and holiday sales. The price shown on the retailer’s website at checkout is always the correct one. If you spot a price in one of our articles that looks out of date, please let us know and we will fix it.
